$10 or less Bookstore 1 Year Anniversary

Can you believe it's already been a year?  Neither can we, but we opened our first  $10 or less Bookstore on August 10, 2012 in Northridge, CA.  Our growth wouldn't have been possible without you, our loyal customer. So, in honor of our one year anniversary, we will be having an ALL DAY FREE EVENT
 with several authors, musicians, poets, a magician and more.   First 100 customers will be entered into a drawing for a $10 Gift Card!  Books are also 50% off our ridiculously low prices, so please join us!

Back in our Vintage Section:

10:00 AM Sylvia Molesko, Retired Elementary School Teacher and writer will be previewing two not-yet-published children’s picture books: “Sibling Songs and Poems” and “The Wrinkled, Krinkled Tickle Bug”. You will want to bring your kids to hear Sylvia!

11:00 AM Author, J.L. Galbrath will do a reading and signing of his book “Captain Star – The Native Pirate”. It is a fiction book about a young Chumash boy from a village in San Luis Obispo, California in the late 1700’s. Find out why he goes with a Spanish Pirate.

12 Noon Author, Roberta Davis will be sharing her books “The Way It Is”, and her “My Friend” Series that she wrote to instill love, hope and strength in every child from their earliest memories.

12:30 PM Author, Jennie Samuel is coming back to share her book “Beyond the Pond”. It was inspired from actual events and visitors in her own backyard pond. Come meet some of the characters and get your copy autographed. Sure to grab kids in upper Elementary School to Middle School and beyond.

1:30 PM Michael Thal, Author of Middle School and Young Adult books will be sharing and signing his books “The Legend of Koolura” a metamorphasis of a psychic pre-teen and “Goodbye Tchaikovsky” a touching portrayal of a boy who just wants to fit in. It’s a great Young Adult book that deals with disabilities like hearing loss.

2:00 PM Norman Molesko is a Young Oldie Senior Poet and the author of “Retiring And Senior Living, Experiencing The Second Half of Life” and “Heart Attack! Then What?” He will perform a meadley of his dynamic poetry for all to enjoy. He will be joined by other local poets. You won’t want to miss this!

3:00 PM Author, Derek Taylor Kent aka Derek the Ghost will be performing and signing his series “Scary School”. It’s perfect for ages 7 to 12. Kids will be led in an interactive spooky story. He will be doing awesome monster drawings in all purchased books. This is a “Can’t Miss”!

4:00 PM Matthew DiConti, Author of “The Benjamin Chronicles” will be happy to sign a copy of Book One, “Relativity” after he reads a portion of this time traveling tale. It’s full of mystery, history, adventure, science fiction and a little romance too. Young adults and adults won’t be able to put this one down!

5:00 PM Patrice “Candy” Zappa-Porter, Author, Musician, Vocalist and sister of the great Frank Zappa will be discussing her book “My Brother Was A Mother, Take 2” an intriguing book about her family life. She will gladly sign a copy for you, then…
Her husband, Musician, Songwriter Nolan Porter will join her. They will share their beautiful music as they did during our Grand Opening one year ago. Make a point to come hear them and bring your friends!

6:30 PM Dr. Joyce Kovelman, a psychologist, scientist and author will be discussing her latest book “Crimes Against Humanity: A1H1W2”. It’s a cautionary tale, beseeching humanity to stop desecrating our planetary home, so all earthly life will prevail. This book is sure to pique your interest and make you think.

7:30 PM Authors Kellie Nicholsen & Kimbra Westervelt will do their presentation “Surviving the Jungle of Life” with excerpts from their book “Tales From The Lioness” a collection of stories by women with fierce courage. Ladies, this one’s for you!

8:30 PM Jacenta Mpalyenka, Author and Spiritual Healer, Advanced Emotional Freedom Technician, Neuro-linguistic Programmer, Reiki Master, Ho'oponopono Practitioner, Pranic Healer and Karma Specialist. She will be back to share her book “Love, Men and Money”. This is the perfect book for women, but men will want to hear about this too!

Over in our Garden Section:

2:00 PM Professional Magician – Glenndalf will be performing magic that will leave the young and old wondering “How did he do that?” We are so happy to have Glenndalf reappear at the $10 or less Bookstore. It’s an amazing show you won’t want to miss.
