Chatsworth Homicide Victim Identified

The cause of death for Doris Ziedenweber has not been determined, pending an autopsy, according to the LA County Coroner's Office.

A woman found dead with defensive wounds in a Chatsworth bungalow in what police are calling a homicide was identified Sunday.

Doris Ziedenweber, 32, was found dead about 6:45 p.m. Thursday by a roommate in a rented home in the 10800 block of Old Santa Susana Pass Road in Chatsworth, according to Elissa Fleak of the coroner's office.

The cause of death has not been established, pending an autopsy.

The man who called 911 was arrested on suspicion of murder, LAPD Devonshire Division Captain Kris Pitcher told reporters Friday. The man's name was not immediately released.

Ziedenweber fought for her life. Police said the victim had defensive wounds on her body, but would not elaborate.

According to unconfirmed reports from a woman claiming to be the victim's sister, Zidenweber may have been found in a freezer. Police have declined to release any additional information.

The woman told Patch in an email that the victim had only been living with the suspect, a 70-year-old man, for about two weeks and that drugs were involved.
