Emily Capretta, formerly Medders, has been a resident of the area her whole life. Now recently married , she and her husband reside in Westlake Village with their two dogs.

From a young age, Emily has always had a passion for the arts and sports. She studied for several years at California Dance Theatre, including participating in productions of the 'Nutcracker' and traveling on the competition team. She also played basketball in the AYBA and at Oak Park High School, which means she has been a longtime matzo ball soup orderer from the Agoura Deli.

During high school, Emily developed  a deeper passion for sports and journalism. Watching her little brother's football games helped spark interest. When offered a scholarship to play basketball in New York she didn't hesitate and make the 3,000 mile journey across the country. However a torn ACL a little over a year later ended her career, but every ending has a beginning right? It was through her injury she met her future husband and began the next chapter in her life.

While finishing school at California State University Northridge, Emily became actively involved in the radio and television station. She wrote, reported, edited, and produced weekly segments for each. She also spent time writing for the Pierce College newspaper. At this time Emily held different jobs as a waitress bottle server, bartender, and wedding planner. Each experience taught her a lot about food!!!

During her schooling, Emily interned at KABC 7 and spent time an extensive amount of time covering the Lakers and shadowing in the newroom. She also interned and worked for Fox Sports West. She currently works full-time for KABC's entertainment show "On The Red Carpet", as well as a contributing writer for Westlake Magazine

And for the personal life? Emily is extremely excited to be filming The Craving for Patch. Since meeting her husband she as found and love of food and cooking (who knew there was life outside plain pasta, chicken, and broccoli). Having been in the area for so long she is excited to take a deeper dive into some of her favorite places. Emily is also excited to be writing and covering sports features. Her dreams as a broadcast sports journalist are still in the forefront, and Patch is providing a wonderful opportunity to grow.

Emily loves writing, traveling, food (a soft spot for sweets and anything fried), sports (especially football and basketball), fashion, entertainment, and embarking on new adventures.
