As a parent with three children at CHA - the best school in the Valley! - I am grateful and thankful…Read More for this resolution. Now all parties have the opportunity to start a new chapter. At CHA, we are excited to move forward and grow our award-winning program; to become reponsible custodians of this astounding property; and to share our school with the generations to come...

This is exciting news for not only the CHA school community but for Chatsworth and the greater San…Read More Fernando Valley. As a Board member it was inspiring to be apart of such a committed, energized community during this challenge. CHA's stewardship of all the campus land now will bring security, stability and wonderful possibilities for the students. Now stay tuned for the exciting things soon to come.

Congratulations to the winners!! Just wondering why it seems that only 3 schools were represented??…Read More My child goes to school in Chatsworth and NOTHING was told or offered to the students about potentially participating in this wonderful artistic celebration of our community. However, they sure can bubble in those circles for the standardized tests!! Shameful lack of actual education and community participation going on.

First, it was Burger Chef, then Tiki Burger, Granada Hills High, and now, Pinecrest.
It is sad to…Read More see the iconic private school, Pinecrest,, close down its campus after over 50 years, providing the fundamentals of academic excellence, along with good sportsmanship, swimming, and horseback lessons. It has been over 46 years since I had the privilege of matriculating from Pinecrest, which then gave me great advantages when I transitioned to public schools and beyond. Pinecrest was a pioneer in Stanford-Benet testing as well as teaching us Espanol from kindergarten on. I recall lowering the flag on 11-22-63 as we heard the news from Dallas. A stout salute from the Honor Guard is in order as we bid adieu.

Pinecrest Northridge was one of the best elementary schools in the valley. The atmosphere for…Read More education of students was second to none. Mrs. Rudd and the entire staff did a phenomenal job for almost 30 years. This was one of the positive educational experiences that adolescents could have; a place not manic for testing and a place where no one felt unsafe. When compared to the insult and mess that Superintendent John Deasy and the LAUSD Board of Education has created, pinecrest was one of the few places where the child as student could learn to experience, grow, and achieve.

PAPA MARTY, I can not tell you how much you have enriched the lives of all the children and parents…Read More at Our Community School. Every time I see you on campus you have a hug and a smile for me. Our daughter will be leaving OCS this year for High School and I know she will miss you dearly, Thank You for telling her how special she is and that the ones who hurt her with their cruel words and actions Don't matter. The LOVE and attention you show the students by being there in the classroom for them is unmeasurable. You are truly PRICELESS !!!!!! Love to you and Mrs. Marty too.

Donating one's hair for the benefit of others who have lost theirs is a worthy cause. I've done it…Read More twice myself.
While the donation itself is not tax-deductible, any associated costs [e.g., postage, mileage, childcare] are.
