WHY did they leave?! I shopped there from time to time. Maybe a thrift store - Plenty of peopleRead More go to them now.

I hope so. Take their crap elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes they are. They are moving over to Simi Valley and parts of T.O.

This is a great chain with consistent good seafood. We had one in Florida and it was pack all theRead More time.

The nut bins have scoops, and NOBODY would dare not use the scoop, that is like comparing us toRead More Amazonian people. Minorities have their various own cultures, which are hyphenated with being Americans, but Jo's assessment is unfair. Celebrate diversity and multiculturalism, not forced homogeneity. Thanks for standing up for the truth, Carl.

Hi, those details can be found on the store's website, http://www.northridgesuitoutlet.com/

I need some new suits. Anyone comment on quality and prices?
Ann LaManna April 3, 2013 at 06:15 pm
I do not understand the above comments from Red Davey. Ride with Pride has never discriminated; itRead More is largely run as a therapeutic riding program for individuals with disabilities and has always included able-bodied lessons as well. I am not aware of what "the other side of the story" is about, but it is unfortunate that this fine organization which expanded it's clientele in less than three years (and continues to do so) and spent their own funds and dedicated volunteer time to improve the ranch was asked to leave. In situations such as this, there are often more than one side of the story, perhaps even two or three.
Red Davey March 28, 2013 at 12:45 pm
This is a rebuttal to the comments referencing Ride with Pride's departure from Browns Canyon Ranch.Read More You should be aware that there is more than one side to the story as to why Ride with Pride was asked to leave. Browns Canyon Ranch has nothing against Equine Therapy programs and in fact still supports several, more successful, non-profit organizations who provide Equine Therapy to the general population and does not discriminate. The programs are still in full operation at Browns Canyon Ranch and more appreciative of our generosity and support of their programs. Please feel free to come by and visit our friendly ranch and draw your own conclusions before listening to disgruntled negative remarks by Mr. Murphy. Thank you.
Ann LaManna March 27, 2013 at 03:06 pm
As a volunteer, I appreciate the local support to keep Ride with Pride in the community.

RIP, Mr Reems. I was young and dumb once. Glad you found your mistake and distanced yourself fromRead More it. Famous for this ???? a culture most of them now have turn their backs on.

diane you must be bored to complain about this newspaper writing up something that is opening up inRead More chatsworth and is creating jobs. why dont you go open up something in chatsworth and provide jobs and tax dollars instead of producing heat from your mouth.
Diana Dixon-Davis April 24, 2013 at 02:56 pm
This is an inappropriate use of an on line "newspaper" as an advertizement; to announce aRead More small business moving into Chatsworth. In addition this "article" uses a totally garbled and under punctuated BYLINE (See book {Eats, Shoots & Leaves} "The company has more than 300 franchise locations and offers help to elderly clients in little need of getting around to those who require constant attention").
Dave April 20, 2013 at 05:59 pm
That paticular building has been an eyesore forever. It blocks the view of the businesses behind itRead More to the north. Those of us who have lived here for any length of time know about the businesses, but it's difficult to attract new customers to them. Any "gym" won't last long there. They will oversell memberships, as do all gyms, and Insufficient parking will be their demise. It's a dinky parking lot for the number of businesses there.
Jo April 19, 2013 at 10:32 pm
What did Land Use Committee decide about the Kaiser facility opening in Chatsworth? We need KaiserRead More in the north valley.
Jesse William Fuller April 19, 2013 at 03:25 pm
Would have preferred a beer garden, but whatever. Also, maybe we wouldn't freak out about parking ifRead More we didn't stigmatize the bus. The orange line is across the street. We should be reducing parking requirements if anything.

Pinecrest Northridge was one of the best elementary schools in the valley. The atmosphere forRead More education of students was second to none. Mrs. Rudd and the entire staff did a phenomenal job for almost 30 years. This was one of the positive educational experiences that adolescents could have; a place not manic for testing and a place where no one felt unsafe. When compared to the insult and mess that Superintendent John Deasy and the LAUSD Board of Education has created, pinecrest was one of the few places where the child as student could learn to experience, grow, and achieve.
Leigh Datzker April 11, 2013 at 01:50 am
First, it was Burger Chef, then Tiki Burger, Granada Hills High, and now, Pinecrest. It is sad toRead More see the iconic private school, Pinecrest,, close down its campus after over 50 years, providing the fundamentals of academic excellence, along with good sportsmanship, swimming, and horseback lessons. It has been over 46 years since I had the privilege of matriculating from Pinecrest, which then gave me great advantages when I transitioned to public schools and beyond. Pinecrest was a pioneer in Stanford-Benet testing as well as teaching us Espanol from kindergarten on. I recall lowering the flag on 11-22-63 as we heard the news from Dallas. A stout salute from the Honor Guard is in order as we bid adieu.

There's six children that go missing everyday and there worried about using condoms in the adultRead More industry. Spend your money and time on something important.
Charles Murray March 29, 2013 at 01:23 pm
I have mixed emotions about this whole subject... I never liked the idea of Chatsworth beingRead More "XXX film capital of the world", which it has been tagged by many sources over the years. But on the other hand, commerce is commerce, and in this economy, I have trouble with any new laws or requirements which drive commerce away. There is a law in place to prevent underage participants in adult film production, and I believe that adults are responsible for their own actions. Thus, I do NOT approve of the government (city, state, or federal), interfering with personal choices such as the use of condoms; whether or not pursuant to adult film content. My suggestion to the City of LA would be to repeal the condom rule, and govern and permit the filming of adult films per whatever union rules may apply; same as with any other filming production.

The Times article COMPLETELY misses the point of our neighborhood's opposition to this project! Mr.Read More Selan attempted to sale his home in 2010 for $7.5 million, at a time when the housing market was at its lowest point. Rather than splitting the property into two lots (being a double lot to begin with) and selling each for a REASONABLE asking price, he partnered up with Mr. Stein to create this business venture, claiming that he wanted to save the original home for "preservation" (interesting that he NOW has no problem with "demolishing" that house). These two men assumed that the venture would go through and they would both make huge profits, since there was talks that Selan would still retain property rights and therefore would continue to receive payments on the facility. What BOTH men - AND - what this Times article (conveniently) forgot to mention - was the UNITED opposition of the neighborhood, the NSNC AND surrounding neighborhoods. Sherwood Forest does not hate, nor discriminate against seniors! We are an established neighborhood of many diverse demographics, with many of our neighbors being original homeowners (the 1st homes were built in the late '40's)! This fight is about the greed of two men, hiding behind their "concern" for our aging seniors. Trust me, your aging parents, grandparents or other loved one, is no more than a dollar sign to these men & this proposed project! Take away their sheep's skin - and you will find two cunning, greedy wolves!!!

The day I heard about this project, I had been about to go north through the intersection at LindleyRead More and Saticoy, when a siren began. All the cars stopped as an ambulance passed through the intersection, heading west on Saticoy. A pick-up truck in the number one lane slammed into a small car ahead of him that had stopped for the ambulance. These types of accidents will increase by a factor of 112 times, once this facility is built. Furthermore, there is a new superbug bacteria that causes fatal intestinal illnesses. So far, it is only found in nursing homes and hospitals. Why should we bring this menace to our community??

The pizza looks delicious -- and I'd hope Buffalo Wild Wings and PizzaRev can work out a deal to getRead More some Blazin' Sauce on those pizzas! I'm sure the other sauces would be great on pizza too!

I had no idea that they were opening a new one there... One of my favorite places for specialRead More occasions! The one in Ventura was closed awhile back, leaving only the Simi location nearby the 118 corridor. That one is always busy with a wait, so hopefully the new one will ease the wait for a quality, HEALTHFUL meal!

for everyone who has a work complaint, it's time to do something about this business owner. she hasRead More done this to many people, and she has done this for more than one of her businesses. Her business practices are illegal. She is stealing. check out this site and maybe you can file a complaint. hopefully, someone in a government office will be able to help, even if it seems like a long shot. at least we're not giving up. and hopefully she will not be able to start ANOTHER business and take advantage of MORE people. http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/dlseWagesAndHours.html if this doesn't apply, maybe some other info on the site will.
carolyn April 20, 2013 at 11:21 pm
she is not going to pay. i worked for her 3 years ago for her magazine. same story. this is who sheRead More is. she has sob stories but thinks she's the only one who has a sad story. she cares about no one. it's her MO i'm finding out. like i said, took her to small claims and won. if that doesn't make her budge, nothing will. good luck, move on. she has to look at herself in the mirror at night.

Yep, would be nice to get what is owed but I won't hold my breath. Becky, if you are reading thisRead More (and I hope you are) I hope you realize how you have affected us and pay us ALL you owe. You know that we all worked hard for you and tried to help keep the restaurant open. Have a heart and fulfill your word. In the future, if your business is doing bad don't drag everyone into your problems. You know we would have never worked for you or put up with any of the abuse you dished out if we knew we would not be compensated.
