Top Blogs: Lovable Dogs and Hateful Speech

Here's what you wrote—and read—this week.

Hey Patchers, we know not everyone gets a chance to read neighboring sites, but we don't want you to miss out on interesting posts by readers. With that in mind, we've rounded up the top blogs of the week for all of the county.

No, we're not making a judgement call on your blogs, these are simply the blogs with the highest readership this week. Here they are (in no particular order):

Time for a Sabbatical: Dedicated Malibu blogger Burt Ross says goodbye for now. We hope he'll be back sharing his special brand of humor after some time away to recharge.

The Danger of Hate: Has the political vitriol gone too far?  Carl Petersen addresses the question and a number of Patchers are chiming in. Join the conversation here.

The Advantages of Having a Small DogHelen Hartel, writing on behalf of the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter gives some of the reasons smaller dogs make great pets. See a few of the many small dogs the shelter is currently housing here.

Reel Me In: A new resident of Malibu, Christy Garcia writes about exploring her new town. This week, she reviews the Reel Inn.

Jackie's South Bay Weekend: It's not too late to take advantage of some of the events Jackie highlights in this week's weekend guide. Check out the Veterans Day observance she mentions here.
