The Mission City Community Network, Inc will be holding a community event. They will be conducting free health screenings. Community residents are invited to come out for free health screenings, receive health education material, prizes, and giveaways.

It's time for Kids' Club at the Northridge Fashion Center. The theme of this week's free family fun event is "Gone Fishin' Crafts." 9301 Tampa Ave, Northridge.

The board of directors of the North Hills West Neighborhood Council meets at New Horizons-Sam's Cafe at 6 p.m. 15725 Parthenia Street, North Hills.

Friday

Bryan Chan and Friends will perform a free show at Pho-King Delicious starting at 7 p.m. 9350 Corbin Ave., Northridge.

Head to the Westfield Topanga Friday for a free outdoor screening of the 1980s sci-fi classic, Back to the Future. Subway and Robeks will have food and drinks available for purchase along with other vendors who will offer treats, such as BBQ, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn. Westfield Topanga will be laying down Astroturf and providing picnic tables and chairs, but guests are welcome to bring their own beach chairs and blankets. The screening starts at 8:15 p.m. and will take place at the Owensmouth Garage of the Westfield Topanga Mall.

The foundation for the preservation of the Santa Susana Mountains is hosting a Hike and Sunset Picnic at Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. They will hike to the Upper Meadow near Stoner's Jump, picnic and learn about the old Stagecoach Route through the Santa Susana Pass.

Meeting Point: Lilac Lane entrance to the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park

To get to Lilac Lane: Take Topanga Canyon north, and just past Stoney Point is the Santa Susana Pass Road. Turn left. After you pass the Rocky Peak exit off the 118, start looking to your left for Lilac Lane. Turn left on Lilac Lane. Drive a short way and look to your left for a large dirt parking lot with a State Parks wooden kiosk. Park in the dirt parking lot and meet at the kiosk.

The India Association of Los Angeles invites you to attend their 14th Annual Indian Independence Day Celebration! This free event offers a cultural show, vendors, great food, rock climbing, jumpers for the kids and a health fair.
