Who Will Remember You in 50 Years? Maybe Everyone

COUNTDOWN: In one day, Think 91311, a celebration of Chatsworth, will offer everyone who attends a chance to put their name in a time capsule to be opened in 2061.

Want to be remembered in 50 years? You can personally guarantee it at Think 91311, a celebration of Chatsworth. Rana Ghadban is making sure of that.

The executive director of the Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce, a sponsor of the event, Ghadban also is in charge of putting together the 20-page program that will be given to everyone who attends the event starting at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, on the grounds of , 20121 Devonshire St. Admittance is free.

The program, along with other items, will be placed in a time capsule to be opened in 2061. Inside the program is a form that allows individuals and families to have their names included and be recognized and remembered when the time capsule is unearthed.

"We're going to print an additional page," Ghadban said. "It's going to be attached to the program as an addendum and it's going to go inside the time capsule. So if you want your name and your family's name in the time capsule, you may add it for $25." Actual burial of the capsule will take place about a week after Think 91311.

Ghadban said each event sponsor gets to choose one item to place in the time capsule.  The chamber will include a directory of its membership, she said.  Another item in the capsule will be a copy of a Chatsworth aerial photo to be taken from a helicopter at about 5:20 p.m. The photo, which should show those on the ground clearly, also will be available for purchase at the event.

In addition to carrying an ad from each sponsor and from about a half dozen families who purchased ads separately, the program will list highlights and activities at Think 91311. These include a silent auction, raffles, a children's area, a vendor's area, a Taste of Chatsworth, musical entertainment and more.

"I think it's a great idea," Ghadban said. "I think it's a great opportunity to bring community members together and do a joint event as a community. We have a great community in Chatsworth and this event will bring us closer together."
