Sunday's Holiday Parade and Festival to Raise Fun and Funds
The parade begins 1 p.m. at Devonshire Street and Jordan Avenue and marches eastward down Devonshire Street. And the festival at the depot runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 28th annual Chatsworth Holiday Parade and Festival, dubbed the Polar Express, pulls into the Chatsworth Train Depot Sunday, Dec. 11.
The parade begins 1 p.m. at Devonshire Street and Jordan Avenue and marches eastward down Devonshire Street. And the festival at the depot runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festivities promise lots of community entertainment and involvement. According to the parade’s planners, the lineup includes something for seemingly everybody: marching bands, dancers, classic cars, equestrian units, music, vendors and more. World War II planes are scheduled to make a fly-over.

As light-hearted as the festivities may be, they promise to be serious business for area high schools. Lucia Montaño, Lt. Governor of , said a $3,000 cash award would be divided among Cleveland High School, Kennedy High School and . The funds will support the schools’ marching band programs. There are seven Kiwanis clubs in Division 25, one of which is the Chatsworth chapter.
“The money is made from (festival) vendors and community sponsors,” Montaño said.
