Northridge Eliminated; Sherman Oaks vs. Encino Today for Championship

Northridge Little League lost to Encino 10-0 Saturday. See highlights and interviews of the game.

UPDATE: Video reporter David Sobieraj says Sherman Oaks eliminated both Woodland Hills (9-7) and Northridge (8-2) on Sunday. The championship is now between Sherman Oaks and Encino today.

Northridge Little League struggled at the plate in a 10-0 five-inning mercy loss Saturday afternoon at Northridge Little League.

The team only could muster one hit the entire game by Myles Gonzalez in the top of the fifth inning.

"I think what we really need to work on is hitting because you can't look at pitches if they're strikes," said Nik Katurich.

Northridge now faces a tough road if it wants to win the District 40 title. They must win three games in three days, two of which would have to come against Encino. They will play the winner of the Sherman Oaks-Canyon Country game at 9 a.m. Sunday.

"Our players need to step it up over the next three days and we need to hit the ball and make plays," said Garrett Gershon.
