St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke purchased a 60-acre parking lot in Inglewood within the last month that could potentially be used for a stadium for the NFL team, it was reported today.

The lot located between the Forum and Hollywood Park had been owned by Walmart, but the retailer sold it after failing to get approval for a superstore, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Kroenke is married to Ann Walton Kroenke, a daughter of the late Walmart co-founder Bud Walton. Stan Kroenke is a former Walmart board member.

There was no immediate response to an email to the Rams seeking comment.

The Rams are able to move from St. Louis following the 2014 season. The purchase of the land could put additional pressure on St. Louis to make the improvements to the Edward Jones Dome the Rams are seeking.

The Los Angeles area has not had an NFL team since 1994. In 1995, the Los Angeles Rams, who played at Anaheim Stadium, moved to St. Louis and the Los Angeles Raiders returned to Oakland after playing at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 1982-1994.

An interesting question. Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch ran behind my newly 2 wheel bike to make sure I got a good running start for my first 2 wheel ride. Long history with the Rams. But since Georgia made sure Carrol disappeared under the waves (Just kidding folks :-) ) and ran off with the Italian Movie composer, the Rams have not been the same (See Lakers post Dr Buss). Obviously Georgia took the money and ran to Saint Louis. Now good God, the Waltons and Walmart own the Rams. Can't they move to Tennessee or West Virginia ? So L.A. gets Cleveland, L.A. and Saint Louis' leftovers. Just like with our population. Since the Raiders are playing on a sand lot now and barely filling it I expect them back. Poor Mr. Wilson at 95 is going so we may have the L.A. Bills too (Please don't kill Buffalo's heart) and that would go with our Buffalo Braves Basketball team (Clippers). San Diego may come up here too. At least they started here. I have a novel idea. How about we have a brand new team. Maybe the Coyotes or Fire Danger or Earthquake. OUR team. stay here. We can watch them lose for a while and become friends. Naaaahhhh never happen. Baaaahh Baaaaaahh here come the Lambs. At least Jeff Fisher is a local Taft high boy.

No rebounding! Let the next stadium be Downtown!
