Thursday, July 28: We Made It
The Sierra Canyon School students and Dean have made it to India safely. Read their first impressions of the country!
After something like 22 hours of transit time, we’ve arrived safe and sound in India’s capital, Delhi. Thursday was spent getting ourselves acclimated and visiting some of the contemporary marketplaces in the more affluent parts of South Delhi. We got a taste for how colorful India is while tagging along on Mrs. Kumar’s shopping trip for salwar kameez and sari fabrics.
We also got a taste of how “colorful” traffic in the capital city is. Max and Peter learned very quickly that staying in one’s lane is more of a suggestion than an imperative, and that gratuitous horn honking may surpass football as the national pastime.
