Youngsters Learn About Rescuing the Wild

The students of Our Community School in Chatsworth got up close with penguins, chameleons and lemurs Thursday afternoon courtesy of Sea World.

The popular amusement park's Shamu Cares program is aimed at educating kids how to report an injured animal if they spot one and the process of getting them healthy enough to return to the wild.

A few students said they learned a valuable lesson from the assembly. Click here to watch a clip of the event on YouTube.

For almost 50 years, SeaWorld San Diego has rescued and treated more than
6,500 animals.
