Xavier Menifield of Chatsworth's Sierra Canyon School signed a National Letter of Intent with Northwestern University Wednesday.
In the 2012 season, Menifield was number one in the Mid-Valley League for rushing yards (1,577 yards) and league scoring (21 touchdowns). As offensive league MVP two years in a row, Menifield’s leadership as a captain his senior year lead his team to an 11-2 season.
Menifield was also a critical component in the Trailblazers winning the CIF-SS East Valley Championship as well as the State Championship in 2011. Head Coach Jon Ellinghouse says of Menifield, “Xavier had an amazing career. He did everything that was asked of him, and we are very proud to send him to a great school like Northwestern.”
