Sierra Canyon Football Team Defeated by Monrovia High School

Sierra Canyon was defeated 42-31 on Friday by Monrovia in the Mid-Valley Division football semifinals at Granada Hills High in a game that featured five lead changes, according to MaxPreps.com.

Junior quarterback Andre Nunez led Sierra Canyon by throwing three touchdowns, according to the report.

"I'm proud of our guys for how they fought hard. But we didn't make plays when it counted," Sierra Canyon coach Jon Ellinghouse told the Los Angeles Daily News. "Monrovia kind of wore us down on the front line and [Monrovia running back George] Frazier was tough to handle."
