Our Community School Opens New Library Friday

[News release from Our Community School in Chatsworth]

Our Community School is excited to announce its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on September 21st at 7:30 a.m. to commemorate the opening of its new library for its K-8th graders.

Our Community School, 10045 Jumilla Ave. in Chatsworth, believes in the magic of a good book and has invested in this magic by creating a new library for its students. In 2011, with the generous donation of books and time from its local community and Access Books, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to provide quality, high-interest books to school, classroom and community libraries, a corner of its computer lab was dedicated to a small library of approximately 1000 books for its students. However, Our Community School had a bigger dream for its library and its students, and this past summer Our Community School fulfilled that dream by acquiring 10,000 additional books, and with the hard-work of Our Community School volunteer parents and relatives a beautiful library has been created.
