New CSUN Hoops Coach Talks Goals

Reggie Theus wants to make Matador basketball a force to be reckoned with in the Southland.

As the new head coach of CSUN's hoops team, Reggie Theus announced Friday during a press conference that he wants reinvigorate the school that has little recognition in the SoCal basketball scene, according to Fox Sports West

“Our goal is to be the hardest working team in the conference,” said Theus at the Matadome. “CSUN basketball has kind of been the third wheel, just kind of like, ‘Whatever.' That stops today.”

He played 12 seasons in the NBA and most recently coached the L.A. D-League team, the D-Fenders

Now, he's looking to bring a fresh perspective to the Matadors following the departure of 17-year head coach Bobby Braswell.

But Theus' coaching career hasn't been without its slumps.
