Former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle Returns to CSUN
Lingle will teach a course on public policy in the school's department of political science this spring semester.
California State University, Northridge, announced in a news release that former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle will return to the college this spring semester to teach an upper-division course on public policy in the school's department of political science.
"Lingle graduated from CSUN with a degree in journalism in 1975, and she credits that education for her success as a public servant," states the news release.
According to CSUN, Lingle said she hopes her experience of over 30 years as a public servant, along with the eight years as Hawaii’s governor, will give students in the senior seminar, Political Science 471A course, "a taste of what it truly means to create public policy, whether at the local, state or federal level."
Harry Hellenbrand, CSUN’s provost and vice president for academic affairs, said in the news release that "university officials were 'tremendously pleased' that Lingle agreed to teach at Northridge this spring."
