5th-Graders Hold Food Drive to Benefit the Needy

Students from Our Community School collect canned foods.

Fifth-graders at Our Community School in Chatsworth recently held a Harvest Food Drive to benefit the North Valley Caring Center and the school's own Panda Pantry for needy families, according to Ilia Jauregui, development director.

Students collected, sorted and repacked donated canned foods. Children and volunteer parents then got a tour of the Caring Center's facility in North Hills and met some of the kids benefiting from their donations.
