Will Susan Shelley Humble One of the 30th District Titans?

She could be the spoiler who knocks Berman or Sherman out of the race.

You've heard about the Clash of the Titans between long-serving Democratic congressmen Howard Berman and Brad Sherman in the newly configured 30th District.

But there's a Republican flying under the radar. Columnist Rick Orlov writes in the Daily News about Susan Shelley of Woodland Hills. Shelley, 52, an author and columnist, faces a Quixotic fight in the heavily Democratic district.

But, Orlov reminds us: "It is expected to be a yearlong campaign under California's new election rules where the top two vote-getters face off, regardless of party."

So, if Shelley can pull enough votes from the Democrats in the Primary, she could be the spoiler who knocks one of the Titans out of the race.
