Earlier story:

The election campaign has been quite low-key:  a few mailers here, a few roadside signs there.

But yes indeed, there' are board seats in contention for the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles Community College District.

And down in Congressional District 36 in Venice, Redondo and Torrence, 16 candidates are in a race to fill the seat of Rep. Jane Harman who resigned.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mail-in ballots must be received by the time polls close or can be dropped off at a voting place on election day.
