Proposal Requires Adult Film Producers to Show Proof of a Health Permit
City Council unanimously approves the motion.
A proposal to require adult film producers to show proof of a public health permit to receive a filming permit in Los Angeles was approved Wednesday by the City Council without opposition.
Many adult film studios have facilities in Chatsworth.
The proposal follows passage of Measure B in the November election, which requires adult film producers to apply for a permit from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to shoot sex scenes in unincorporated county areas.

A separate vote was also taken to instruct city officials to prepare a motion to adopt the provisions in Measure B.
"These actions bring us a step closer to getting the city and county measures fully up and running and should go a long way improve health and safety among adult film performers," said Michael Weinstein, president of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which backed Measure B.
