Angelenos who want to recycle Christmas trees can chop them up and put them in green waste bins, leave them on the curb on garbage day or drop them off at parks and fire stations around the city on Jan. 5, the city's Bureau of Sanitation announced today.
Trees can be disposed of in city-issued green waste bins and picked up on a regular schedule.
Another option is to leave the tree, decoration-free, at the curb to be picked up as part of the weekly trash collection. Those living in multi-family buildings can also leave the trees at curbside.

And finally, residents can drop off their trees Jan. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at one of 21 fire stations and parks around the city. The drop-off locations are listed at www.lacitysan.org. The closest location to town is in Northridge at 11641 Corbin Ave.
Last year, Angelenos recycled more than 100,000 Christmas trees as part of the Bureau of Sanitation program.
