Brent Zubeck Arraignment Delayed to Nov. 7

He faces charges that he fired on police when they cornered him in Encino.

The Monday arraignment of Brent D. Zubek on charges that he fired on police when they closed in on him Aug. 22 in Encino has been rescheduled to Nov. 7.

Zubek is suspected in the killing of a man and woman whose decomposing bodies were found in a Chatsworth trash bin last month. He faces charges of assault with a firearm on a peace officer, possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a loaded, stolen firearm.

He has not yet been charged with either of the slayings.

Earlier in the day firefighters went to the homicide site in the 20400 block of Lassen Street where a van was engulfed in flames in the backyard, said Sgt. Lonnie Tiano of the LAPD's Devonshire Station.

Th 3 a.m. blaze was the at the address since the bodies were found Aug. 12, Tiano said.
