Workers Installing Left-Turn Light at Chatsworth and De Soto

Chatsworth Street was widened to allow for a new turn lane.

Work was underway Monday to install a traffic light providing for a new left turn signal from Chatsworth Street to De Soto Avenue.

The new signal, and a left-turn lane from the recently widened Chatsworth Street, will allow traffic to turn north more rapidly, rather than backing up onto the narrow street lined with equine properties and horse boarding stables.

The construction was required mitigation for additional traffic in the area as a result of the building of the Sierra Canyon high school on Rinaldi Street. Developers of , a community planned above the north end of Canoga Avenue, was to participate in the mitigation. However, that project has been delayed because of the weak economy.
