Woman Burned After Car Crashes Into Light Pole

The collision occurs at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Lassen Street.

A woman suffered burns over 60 percent of her body when the car she was in struck a light pole in Chatsworth early Sunday morning and burst into flames, a traffic sergeant said.

The crash was at 2 a.m. at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Lassen Street, said Sgt. Cameron Dunnet of the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.

A man in the car was also burned, but not severely, Dunnet said.

Police did not know which person was driving the car because both were transported to hospitals for treatment and unable to talk to investigators, he said.

The investigation was continuing, Dunnet said.
