Robbed? Claim Your Stolen Items Online

LAPD task force recovers 11,000 pieces of personal property.

More than 11,000 stolen items recovered by a police task force in the Southland this year can now be claimed by their rightful owners, with authorities urging theft-victims Tuesday to examine the property online.

The items were recovered during an operation that began earlier this year into so-called "fence" burglaries, in which criminals knowingly buy stolen property for later resale, police said. The task force engaged in extensive surveillance, culminating with the arrests of numerous suspects and the recovery of stolen goods.

Photos of the property are available for viewing on the website www.lapdonline.org. Type the words "fence burglaries" into the search box and follow the prompts.

The burglaries occurred in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura and San Bernardino counties.

If you believe your property is depicted in any of the photographs, you can send an email to lapdvctf@lapd.lacity.org or leave a message at (818) 644- 8091.

In your email, include a brief description of the item, the item number written on the yellow tab in the photograph, the name listed as the victim on your burglary report, the report number, the address where the burglary occurred, the date of the crime and a callback number.

We should be spending So Cal money to use the "LA river", diverting some to cisterns andRead More reservoirs. It no longer feeds a delta which must have been a very rich one 200 years ago. You are right, L.A. with it's huge population subsidizes most of State Taxes. That the Oil companies in the Central Valley are sucking up more water is no surprise. If we have several years of drought, we can drink 87 octane. We have been allowing water that falls here in L.A. to run into the ocean, saving little to none. We can go from 25-30" a year to 4. Suddenly on the 4 year we have high rates and rationing. Why ? Because it has always been the quick buck and expediency over thoughtful planning. in Israel, Masada is in one of the driest area's of the world. By channeling droplets of water, they were able to water a community of hundreds for years.
