Watch for Burglars in Chatsworth and Porter Ranch

Police ask everyone to report suspicious activity.

[From the LAPD Devonshire Division]

Please be aware of the recent crime activity that is occurring in our area.

Residential burglary generally occurs during the mid-morning to late afternoon hours, while people are either working or doing errands away from home. The commercial burglary activity occurs more often in the evening to early morning hours, when most businesses are closed and area is less traveled.

This is the criminal activity that is occurring, and we need everyone's help to report suspicious activity. I encourage you all to pass the word on to your neighbors, family, and friends and help us catch these criminals. I do not want anyone to directly confront a suspect and jeopardize your safety. Please remember to be a good witness and call 911 in a timely manner, so law enforcement can respond quickly and handle the situation.

The 17A23 Basic Car Neighborhood Watch Meeting is this Thursday, Feb. 28,  at 9901 Mason Ave. -- St. John Eudes Church. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. Please come and hear the crime statistics for area, and current events related to LAPD and the community.

If you are interested in starting your own neighborhood watch group and you would like assistance please contact me by email 27677@lapd.lacity.org or the office phone number is (818) 363-1726.
