Volunteer Accused of Stealing Gas From LAPD Stations

Jack Hardie is suspected of pumping city gas for his own personal vehicle on two separate occasions.

A long-time and praised LAPD volunteer is suspected of stealing gas from police stations in the San Fernando Valley, according to the Daily News reports.

Jack Hardie, a retired officer who's been a volunteer since 2003, is facing two misdemeanor petty theft charges for allegedly filling his car's tank with city fuel from pumps at the North Hollywood and Topanga stations.

He's been relieved of his volunteerism and his due in court on April 25 for arraignment. He was not arrested, the Daily News reports.
