VIDEO: Police Must Wait to Hear Manson Mystery Tape

Will Charles 'Tex' Watson's decades-old recording reveal more Manson Family murders?

When the headed out from their encampment at Chatsworth's Spahn movie ranch on Aug. 9, 1969, the plan was murder. We know about the slayings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate, Abigail Ann Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Earl Parent and Thomas Jay Sebring at a Benedict Canyon home. And the killings of Leno La Bianca and his wife, Rosemary, in their Los Feliz-area home the next day.

But were there more?

Wednesday, a judge in Plano, TX, agreed to turn over eight hours of taped interviews with Manson Family member Charles "Tex" Watson to the LAPD. But not immediately.

The police want to know what Watson told his lawyer about possible additional murders.

"The audio was recorded decades ago between attorney Bill Boyd and his then-client Watson, who is currently serving a life sentence for his involvement in the 1969 Manson Family murders. The audio is currently in the hands of a federal bankruptcy trustee following the liquidation of Boyd's Texas law practice," according to KNBC4.

Watson waived his client-attorney privilege back in September 1976 to help an author write a book.

However, Tuesday, Watson's current attorney phoned-in objections to the court and the judge ruled that police must now wait 14 days while the court considers the request.
