Crime & Safety

Chatsworth Averages 1 Crime a Day

Remember to lock your car doors, garages, all doors to your home and hide your valuables from plain view.

During the 11 days between March 6 and 17, there were 16 Chatsworth-area crimes, an average of just over one crime a day.

Although there were two instances of violent crime -- both robberies -- most cases were non-violent in nature with the overwhelming majority being thefts, theft from cars, and grand theft auto.

The total breakdown of crime for this time period is: 5 grand theft autos, 4 thefts from vehicles, 2 thefts, 2 robberies, and 3 burglaries.

Reported crime in the Chatsworth area is low and the commonly reported crimes are easy to protect against by locking car doors, garages and homes, and hiding  valuables from plain view.
