Stolen Car Suspect Escapes After Brief Foot Chase

He ran into a Canoga Park parking structure and later escaped into a nearby neighborhood, police said.

A stolen car suspect eluded officers after a brief vehicle and foot chase Monday in Canoga Park, police said.

The one-minute chase ended around 4:55 p.m. in the 6300 block of Canoga Avenue, between Erwin Street and Victory Boulevard, where the suspect, a man in his 50s or 60s, bailed out of a vehicle that had been reported stolen, said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department.

He ran into a parking structure and later escaped into a nearby neighborhood, where a perimeter was set up, but an arrest was not made, Faden said.
