5:00 p.m.  13900 block of Foothill Boulevard, Sylmar

LAFD Engine 91 has arrived at the location but find no patient. They circle the parking lot and inquire at various businesses in the strip mall, but to no avail. The fire crew advises LAFD'S Operations Command Dispatch (OCD) about the situation, and believe it may be a "false" call.

5:01 p.m.  13800 block of Foothill Boulevard, Sylmar

OCD radios back Engine 91, stating that the "GPS positioning gives a 90% confidence" that the call came from the 13800 block of Foothill Boulevard.  OCD tried calling back the cellphone number, but there was no answer. Engine 91 will go investigate the new address.

5:04 p.m.  13800 block of Foothill Boulevard, Sylmar

Engine 91 radios back OCD, and advises that they have thoroughly checked the businesses there, and "nobody knows anything, unable to locate anybody." Engine 91 tells OCD, "I'm gonna call this a false."

5:06 p.m.  10700 block of Ventura Boulevard, Studio City

North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of a "211" (armed robbery). The alleged robbery suspect is described as "male, black, 18 years old, 5'7" to 5'8", thin build, black t-shirt, red bandana, and khaki shorts." The person reporting says the suspect ran southbound on Ventura Boulevard, and used bodily force to commit the robbery.

5:08 p.m.  Labrador Street and Quartz Avenue, Chatsworth

LAFD is on the scene where an alleged drug suspect being pursued by police has jumped down into the Limekiln Canyon Wash and run into a 3-foot diameter drainage pipeway. The fire units on the scene are not going to "put anyone (fire crew) into the tunnel" due to the possibly dangerous circumstances. They believe he may have already escaped anyway, but will try to locate map diagrams "from Downtown" detailing where the system runs, and await the arrival of the SWAT team. (The man was after he was located in a manhole.)

5:15 p.m.  5100 block of Klump Avenue, North Hollywood

North Hollywood Division LAPD is called to the scene of a "neighbor dispute" at the location.

5:22 p.m.  5100 block of Klump Avenue, North Hollywood

Saturday

1:40 a.m.  8100 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue, Sun Valley

North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of a at the residence. There are several emergency phone calls to 911 in that period around 1:40 a.m., many reported hearing several gunshots, and some of the calls generated from the residence location itself, where a party was going on at the moment of the gunfire.

Some calls described the possible shooting suspects as two males, driving a "white, 4-door vehicle, of unknown make and unknown model, with black rims" but there were some conflicting details in the descriptions of the suspects and the getaway vehicle.

Later it is learned that a gunshot victim was found dead at the scene, and a possible second victim, related to the Coldwater Canyon Avenue homicide scene, was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City and died.
