Porter Ranch Motorcyclist Killed in Chatsworth Hit-and-Run Crash [VIDEO]

Witnesses said that the driver of the white Ford truck never stopped.

A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Porter Ranch was killed Saturday in a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Nordhoff Street at the edge of Chatsworth.

A white 1999-2000 Ford F250/350 pick-up truck was traveling northbound on De Soto Avenue and turned left at Nordhoff Street into the path of the motorcycle traveling southbound, according to the LAPD Valley Traffic Division.

The driver of the pick-up truck was described by police as a male Hispanic in his 30s with a light complexion and a mustache.

The victim, who was wearing a helmet, also struck a utility pole, according to fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Witnesses told KCBS2 that the driver of the truck never stopped.

“We followed him up the street in our motor home,” said witness Helen Kelly. The driver escaped into traffic before Kelly could get his license plate number, she told KCBS2.

The identity of the motorcyclist in the 12:55 p.m. accident is being withheld, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Valley Traffic Division Officer Martinez at 818-644-8032.
