Police Surround Burglar Who Turns Out to Be a Transient
LAPD closes Nordhoff Street in Chatsworth.
Police closed off Nordhoff Street in Chatsworth Monday evening responding to an erroneous report that a burglar was holding an employee in the midst of the warehouse district.
A police helicopter flew overhead and several patrol cars blocked nearby intersections.
The burglar police were hoping to flush out of a business in the 21600 block of Nordhoff Street turned out to be "a transient looking for a warm place to sleep,'' said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Karen Rayner.
