UPDATE: Police Recover Gun at Canoga Park High

Authorities investigate reports of a student who brought a firearm to school.

Police Thursday arrested a young man who ran onto the campus of Canoga Park High School after allegedly being seen with a gun on a nearby street.

Officers went to the school at 6850 Topanga Canyon Blvd. at 9:25 a.m., and the campus was locked down, Los Angeles police Officer Christopher No said.

The lockdown was lifted at 12:40 p.m., said Monica Carazo of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The name of the 19-year-old man, who was arrested by school police, was not immediately released. It was unclear if he is a student at the school, Carazo said.

Carazo said school police saw the suspect with a gun near the campus and tried to question him, but he fled onto the school grounds.
