Pair of burglaries

On Sept. 23, police were called at 3 a.m. to two homes on the 20400 block of Rodax Street to investigate a pair of burglaries that appear to be connected.

Instant justice

Police were called to the corner of Chase Street and De Soto Avenue at 10 p.m. on Sept. 25 for an unusual case. First there was an assault with a deadly weapon in which a suspect shot two victims. After the altercation, the suspect fled the scene but did not get far because he was struck by a passing car and died of the resulting injuries.

Gotcha!

The 20100 block of Londelius Street was the site of a crime on Sept. 28, when patrolling police officers spotted a bicyclist riding with some odd objects in his hands. When the officers attempted to stop the man to further investigate, the bicyclist attempted to flee, abandoning his transport and tossing away the items. After capturing the evading suspect and retrieving one of the items, which turned out to be a stolen GPS system, the police arrested the man on charges of burglary from motor vehicle and an outstanding parolee-at-large warrant.

Stolen cars, seats

Additionally, there were seven instances of grand theft auto in the areas surrounding nearby Granada Hills High School during the past week. All of these robberies took place under the cover of darkness. Many of the cases also involved theft of third row seats from SUVs.
