Police Alert at Lawrence Middle School

A man impersonating an officer using a fake badge told girls that he needed to put a tracking device 'in her bra.'

From LAPD Devonshire Division:

Since May 23 there have been two incidents where a man walked up to female students from Lawrence Middle School and showed what appeared to be a Law Enforcement Badge.

He told the girls that he needed to put a tracking device “in her bra.”

In one incident the suspect threatened to arrest the girl, in another the suspect offered money for her cooperation.

The man is described as a male Hispanic or Asian, 20-22 years old, 5’4” – 5’5” with short brown hair & brown eyes. Any information regarding this suspect should be forwarded to LAPD-Devonshire Detectives at 818-832-0609.

Speak with your children and keep them safe. Advise them that no Law Enforcement Officer would ever touch them inappropriately. Advise them to get the attention of nearby friends/students so the police can be notified and catch this suspect.
