Parents, Are These Your Children?

Kids, we know what you did this summer.

Back in the '60s, Bobby Vee had a Top 40 hit with "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes." Well, this is 2012 and as Bobby Vee sang, "a thousand eyes can't help but see."

Day and night, there are electronic eyes everywhere, and they captured images of  "Lani," "Leilani," and "Stealth" going about their business, tagging up Chatsworth. The cops have the security video.

So, if you're in this picture, you better skateboard over to the LAPD Devonshire Station and honestly fess up, because as Bobby Vee sang, "remember when you tell those little white lies, that the night has a thousand eyes."

"Somebody's watching you !" -Sly and Family Stone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb5moqslJM4 Tagging our Rocks is not acceptable. Tag your virtual walls all you want. Unfortunately most kids don't realize how serious an offense (legally) it can be. They think it's just a little paint. Because of the amount of taggng and what it can represent (the equivalent of your dog marking his territory and the warfare that can ensue over it) the penalties are way worse than a kid (or the poor parents) could ever imagine. I have a friend whose 13 year old was tagging some. it cost (not the kid), the parents thousands. The kid has a record now and somehow because others use it as a gang moniker display it has serious crime legal ramifications wise. "I want to be part of the group" behavior results in serious problems. I would guess that the tag above (Leiloni) with the carefully circled "i's" is not one of the two young dudes in the picture.

I hope these 'kids' are arrested and prosecuted. I'm sick to death of looking at their idiotic destruction. Please, someone turn them in.

Yes!! Let them go crap up their own bedrooms with slang and monikers... Or a nice cell somewhere?

Sharon, do you really wish for these children to be thrown into a jail cell and have all of their human rights taken away? Why because they painted on a rock. Do you know what happens in LA county jail. These Kids would most likely be stabbed beaten and traumatized for life. Is that really what you wish upon them? Maybe you should take a step back and think for a second. If you feel that sort of ruthless action is justified because they tagged a rock then you are the one who needs help and you should probably be in a jail cell yourself. If your offended by what they’re doing then you probably weren’t cut out to live in a large urban area. These kids are innocent good kids compared to what I witness day to day e.g. gang beatings, shooting guns in the air, drug dealing... Perhaps you would be happier in Iowa or South Carolina, please consider this because it’s not good for your health if you get so bent out of shape over something so harmless.

Alain James, you are not only an idiot, but a complete idiot. It's not their rock - it's not their property. I don't care to see someone's attempt at being memorialized, whether it's a rock, a business wall/window, a sidewalk, a billboard, or anything else. Two of those in the photograph appear to be juveniles. At most, they would go to Sylmar Juvenile Hall, ONLY if a parent or guardian could not be notified, or it was a serious felony. It is a misdemeanor offense, for the first time, the second, and how many other times the judge rules that it is. They are NOT going to LA County County Jail in any case. As far as the other person goes, he does look 18+, so tough luck. If he could not post bail for a simple misdemeanor, then he would go to LACJ. Try to write with some intelligence, some knowledge, and w/o a knee jerk, emotional response. And, I would bet, that if these "kids" tagged some farm equipment or barn in Iowa, and the farmers learned their ID, somehow the farmers would handle it themselves - like working on the farm for free for awhile. Sheesh. Let us know where you live so we can come over and express our "artistic skills" on YOUR property. Rant over.
