Fire heavily damaged a home in Northridge early today before firefighters knocked the flames down, but no one was hurt, a fire department spokeswoman said.
The blaze inside a two-story, single-family home at 19641 Citronia St. was reported at 1:49 a.m., said fire department spokeswoman Katherine Main.
"The house was fully involved when the firefighters arrived at the scene," Main said. "Sixteen fire companies and five ambulances were dispatched to the scene."
The fight to extinguish the flames also included a partial roof collapse, she said.
The department dispatched 101 firefighters to the scene and a knockdown was declared in 41 minutes, Main said. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, she said.
