Firefighters confine the blaze to the top floor of a Northridge home Wednesday before it does any serious damage.

An attic fire in the 19500 block of Lemarsh St. in Northridge was quickly extinguished Wednesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze at a 3,168-square-foot home was reported at 3:03 p.m. and took 44 firefighters 25 minutes to put it out, said spokesman Brian Humphrey.
