Motocyclist Killed in Crash Near Stoney Point

Police closed down Topanga Canyon Boulevard near the 118 Freeway.

A 28-year-old motorcycle rider who crashed into the back of a Jeep Wrangler in Chatsworth died early Saturday.

William Lovvorn of Simi Valley, who was riding a black 2007 Suzuki, was in the right-hand northbound lane near Stoney Point on Topanga Canyon Boulevard when he rear-ended a 2001 Jeep, police said.

Lovvorn was declared dead at the scene in the 12:15 a.m. accident.

The Jeep driver was uninjured.

Police blocked northbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard traffic near Old Santa Susanna Pass Road. Southbound traffic arriving from the 118 Freeway was redirected back onto the freeway.

Los Angeles police with the Valley Traffic Division are handling the investigation.
