A hit-and-run motorist was being sought following a collision that killed a young man in Northridge early today.

Robert Ramage, 24, of Northridge, died at a hospital following the 12:25 a.m. crash at Parthenia Street and Balboa Boulevard.

A 2001 tan Ford Ranger pickup was westbound on Parthenia when it collided with Ramage's gray 1993 Ford Escort, which was southbound on Balboa Boulevard, police said.

Ramage, who worked at an animal clinic and had hoped to become a veterinarian, was ejected from the car and was found lying in the street.

The suspect's car continued north in the southbound lanes of Balboa and collided with a parked vehicle. The driver, who took off on foot, was described as a white man in his late 20s, about 6 feet to 6 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing between 230 to 280 pounds.

Anyone with information was asked to call Valley Traffic Division Officer M. Tucker at (818) 644-8062.

My Son and I got hit on the same street at Reseda Blvd and Parthenia on Christmas night by a drunk driver driving a White older BMW. LAPD did not broadcast the incident, (we had his license plate number) I was told, "he is probably at home sleeping by now"
