Injured Hiker Airlifted from Rugged Terrain in Porter Ranch

LAFD paramedics were lowered from a helicopter to assist.

Firefighters airlifted a lost and injured hiker Monday from a trail near the 11300 block of Tampa Avenue in Porter Ranch.

The search for the hiker began at about 6:05 p.m., according to Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Paramedics were lowered to the hiker who was hoisted out of rugged terrain by helicopter and taken by ground to a hospital. The patient's condition did not appear to be life threatening, Lenske said.
