Inert Grenade Found in Granada Hills Target Parking Lot

A bomb squad responded soon after and determined the device was not explosive, police said.

An inert grenade in a parked car caused a scare today in the parking lot of a Granada Hills Target store, police said.

Police were called to the 11100 block of Balboa Boulevard about 1:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The scene was cleared at 3:27 p.m., LAPD Detective Gus Villanueva said.

The store was not evacuated, police said.

The grenade was found after the driver of the car caused some kind of disturbance in a nearby store, Villanueva said.
