A couple of your neighbors in Chatsworth chased him down after mail was taken from their mailboxes Monday.

"I had a guy roaming through my neighborhood who was opening people's mailboxes and taking out mail," Janine Butler told Patch.

"He stole four pieces of my outgoing mail," she said.

"My next-door neighbor called and we both took our cars and were able to catch up wth him on Lassen just west of Topanga. We asked him about stealing the mail and he denied it. Then we took his picture. We said the neighbor had clearly identified him, and he said then he wanted to left alone: 'Quit following me'."

But your neighbors didn't give up easily. "So he ran across Lassen, we followed him," Butler said.

"And he kept running, darted into an opening to one of streets, apparently dumped all my stolen mail in bushes, then kept running. I did retrieve all my mail from the bushes." 

"My neighbor followed to somewhere near the . We lost him as he went into the parking lot. But we showed the picture of this guy to the hotel manager and he says he thinks he has seen him too," she said.

Butler said she wanted Patch to circulate the photo so everyone can be on the lookout.
