Granada Hills Man Killed in 118 Crash

A 21-year-old man was killed Sunday in a three-vehicle crash today on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Mission Hills, California Highway Patrol officers said.

The crash was on the westbound 118 Freeway, at the San Diego (405) Freeway, at 2:52 a.m., according to the CHP.

The dead man was initially publicly identified only as a resident of Granada Hills. He died at the crash.

The CHP report indicated he was driving west in a 2003 Pontiac, approaching the 405 overcrossing when he allowed the car to strike the guardrail on the right.

The Pontiac then struck a 2012 Infinity driven by a 29-year-old man, who suffered minor injuries. A third vehicle, a 2001 Nissan driven by a 56-year- old man, crashed into the two vehicles.     

The 56-year-old suffered no injuries.
