Driver Hits Power Pole, Blacks Out Part of Lake Manor

The woman, who was not hurt, was arrested.

A woman drove into a utility pole in unincorporated Chatsworth Lake Manor Wednesday, knocking down the pole and causing a power outage affecting Southern California Edison customers, authorities said.

The woman, who was not hurt, was arrested, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.

Kimball said the accident occurred at 23232 Smith Rd. just south of Lake Manor Drive at about 12:15 a.m. The power pole toppled onto the roof of the car and was blocking the road, he said.

Southern California Edison was asked to handle the power outage and remove the downed pole, Kimball said. It was not immediately clear how many customers were affected by the outage.

Lake Manor Drive at Slater Terrace and Valley Circle Boulevard at Hazel Street were closed so authorities could clear up the debris created by the accident, Kimball said, adding there were no live wires in the street.
