Chatsworth Woman Drives Over Cliff in Box Canyon

Driver had moderate injuries from what authorities called a suicide attempt.

A 35-year-old Chatsworth woman who drove off a road in Box Canyon in what authorities called a suicide attempt, survived with moderate injuries, authorities told the Ventura Star.

Both the Highway Patrol and Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene at 6:47 a.m. Wednesday near Box Canyon and Santa Susana Pass roads, according to the Ventura Star.

The woman's vehicle was spotted by a passing driver in a canyon about 75 feet down from the road, according to authorities.
