Car Thieves Target Devonshire Area

Camrys, Accords and all types of trucks are on the hit list.

The LAPD has sent a alert that the Devonshire Division is being targeted by car thieves and burglars breaking into cars.

Toyota Camrys, Honda Accords and all types of trucks are on the hit list, the police warn. But other vehicles are also being victimized, they said.

They offer the following safety tips:

  • Lock and secure your vehicles, and always set your alarm or use an anti-theft device.
  • Never leave valuables such as cell phones, CDs, briefcases or backpacks in plain view. Lock them in the trunk or put them out of sight.
  • Report any unusual activity, which may be linked to these crimes, to the police immediately.
